solo exhibition “change - verwandlung”
"For Ranuken, art has been a part of their life since early childhood and adolescence. Initially, it was an element of their perception and worldview—only later did they pursue art seriously. They worked as an illustrator and designer—with years of training. Free-form painting, however, is the stronger attraction, and they devote themselves primarily to this profession today. The basis of their painting is emotional self-exploration. The starting point is usually crisis situations in which they feel that certain compulsive control—induced by upbringing and society—weighs down on them and limits their need for experience and expression. Through intuitive self-exploration, hidden and repressed elements resurface, enabling them to understand previously incomprehensible things. In this complex process of self-exploration, they discover "truths" that enlighten them about themselves and their world. This long-standing interest in their own hidden psychology leads Ranuken to abstract painting, as well as to portraiture. They don't commit to specific techniques; they prefer free, creative play, using different materials (oil, ink, clay, and many others).”
